CURRICULUM & INSTRUCTION
Rock Church Academy employs best practices to provide an exceptional education for scholars in grades K5 through 5th. Small group instruction allows for individualized attention, ensuring every child receives the support they need to thrive. Guided by the science of reading, our literacy program develops strong foundational skills in phonemic awareness, decoding, fluency, and comprehension. Using the Abeka ELA curriculum, we build proficiency in grammar, vocabulary, and writing, while the SAVVAS Realize math curriculum promotes hands-on learning and problem-solving to deepen mathematical understanding. This comprehensive approach equips students for success across all subjects.
Our staff continually seek grants and partnerships to help boost scholar achievement. We currently have a grant to provide all scholars with a free Reading Eggs account. We also participate in programs with Towson University Reading Clinic, Catapult Learning and Good Hope Tutoring Services.
ELECTIVES & ENRICHMENT
At Rock Church Academy, electives and enrichment opportunities play a vital role in nurturing well-rounded scholars. Weekly electives like media, art, chapel, life skills, language, physical education, and music inspire creativity, spiritual growth, and practical skills. Scholars will participate in schoolwide events throughout the year, including fall fun day, field trips, business fairs, school performances, school spirit week, academic contests, and field day!
After-school clubs, include martial arts, guitar, piano, cooking, rock climbing, dance, cheerleading, and competitive sports through Christian Youth Athletics. Christian Youth Athletics offers soccer, basketball, tee ball, baseball, and softball. Scholars in 5th grade may try-out to compete on the MIAC Middle School Sports teams.
Electives and clubs empower students to discover their passions, refine their talents, and develop teamwork and discipline, preparing them for success beyond the classroom.
