RCA ANNUAL TURKEY TROT
Who Can Participate
Scholars, parents, and extended family may participate in this year's Turkey Trot. Participants have the option to walk/run one of the following: 1/4 Mile, 1/2 Mile, 3/4 Mile, or 1 Full Mile.
We will have a 1/2-mile race for scholars in Grades 1-5 and a one-mile race for scholars in Grades 6-9 as well as parents who wish to compete. Scholars in grades Pre-K & Kindergarten will have a quarter-mile class fun walk. We ask that all race participants arrive at school by 9:30 a.m. so that we can close off areas to traffic for the race/walk. We will assemble for the Turkey Trot inside the school gymnasium. Parent volunteers are wanted to help with greeting, water stations, and guiding race participants along the course.
Run/Walk Festivities Schedule
- 10:00 AM- Pre-K & K Class Fun Walk/Run (1/4 Mile)
- 10:30 AM- Grades 1 & 2 Race/Walk (1/2 Mile)
- 11:00 AM- Grades 3-5 Race/Walk (1/2 Mile)
- 11:30 AM- Grades 6-9 & Parents Race/Walk (1 Mile)
Turkey Dance/Post Race Refreshments in the Gymnasium after the races. Awards will be given for 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place for each age division.
What's Needed
All scholars who would like to participate in the Turkey Trot must register to participate. Race participants who are not registered scholars must complete a Turkey Trot Waiver.
The Turkey Trot registration fee is a minimum donation of at least $15 fundraised or a minimum flat fee of $15 per race participant. Prizes and incentives will be awarded to families who raise the highest amount of funds. This year's top fundraisers will again be able to "Pie" the principals, Mrs. Traut and Mr. Landry. Turkey Trot registration includes a Turkey Trot t-shirt for each registered race participant.
